Mr Simon Wilson, British Deputy High Commissioner, Eastern India
Mr Simon Wilson was born on 9th August 1957 and joined the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in 1975. A career diplomat, Mr. Wilson has served in various parts of the world: South East Asia Department, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, London; Attaché, British Consulate-General, Johannesburg; Attaché, British Embassy, Helsinki; Defense Department, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, London; Vice Consul, British Embassy, Tehran; Vice Consul, British Embassy, Riyadh; Second Secretary (Political), British Embassy, Lisbon; Deputy Head of Indonesia Section, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, London; Head of South East Asia Section, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, London; Deputy Head of Mission, British Embassy, Bahrain. Mr. Wilson took over as the Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata in April 2006. He is married to Heather. They have two sons.
Ian Gadsby
Managing Director of Biogas Technology Ltd. specialized in project development of all aspects of Biogas collection and utilization from landfills, coal mines and most recently, anaerobic digestion. Ian has been with the company from conception in 1991 and has overseen the development of the business into a globally successful company with operations all over the world.
Mr. A.K. Rai
He is Managing Director of MMRT Instrumentation Pvt. Ltd. and of MeSy (India) Pvt. Ltd., India (A Joint Venture Company with MeSy GmbH, Bochum, Germany). Mr. Rai graduated in Electronics Engineering from Bangalore University. Since then he collected extensive experience in geotechnical areas in numerous Indian geo-engineering projects. This resulted in the formation of his geotechnical company MMRT Instrumentation Pvt. Ltd., located at Lucknow, as specialized in the design of instruments for specific geotechnical research projects and infrastructure related projects in the country. As a Managing Director of MeSy (India) Pvt. Ltd. since 2001 he is in-charge of Technical Developments, Project Management, and Finance. MeSy is a leading company in the field of In-Situ Stress & Permeability Measurement.
Dr. Rafal Lewicki
Technical Director at Biogas Technology Limited, working with the company since 2002, responsible for numerous research and development projects on biogas, development and implementation of CDM projects and novel applications of existing technologies. Mechanical Engineer with 9 years experience in drilling industry obtained his PhD on maintainability of drilling equipment in 1989. Before joining Biogas, worked as Senior Consultant at Enviros, Landfill Gas Development Engineer and R&D Manager at Shanks Waste Services in the UK, R&D Scientist and consultant in Poland, gaining 12 years experience in waste management industry. Member of British Chartered Institution of Wastes Management since 1996. Over 30 professional publications, numerous presentations on international conferences.
Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh
Dr. Ajay Kumar Singh is a Senior Scientist and Head of the Methane Emission and Degasification Programme at Central Institute of Mining and Fuel Research (Erstwhile Central Mining Research Institute), Dhanbad. With a Ph.D. degree from Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, Dr. Singh is one of the most established scientists in India in the field of coalbed gases. He has more than thirty research papers to his credit in the national and international arena and has published 127 technical reports. His research is primarily concerned with the prediction of methane emission in mines, resource evaluation for production of coalbed methane, CBM reservoir modeling and Carbon storage in geologic formations.
Sergio Cuadrat
Carbon Process Manager, started as Development Engineer at Biogas Technology Limited in February 2005. As Chemical Engineer, his area of expertise has been focused in the optimization of degradation process for organic wastes. At Biogas, he has been involved in numerous development projects on new technologies. Recently he is leading the Company CDM projects, developing them from evaluation to implementation. Previous to Biogas, worked as Researcher in Lettinga Associates Foundation (Wageningen, the Netherlands) and as Plant Operations Manager in the Botarell Compost Plant (Tarragona, Spain).
Zaneta Whitworth
Business Development Manager for Carbon Projects. Commercial background in Export and Sales, with extensive international experience, previously managed several companies in Central and Eastern Europe. After joining Biogas Technology Ltd. in June 2006, presented at several overseas seminars, organised by the EISU, UK, promoting the capabilities of UK companies in the waste management sector with emphasis on project development under various Climate Change Mitigation Schemes.
